Post-merger integration
We have considerable experience of a wide variety of group reorganisation projects. The key challenges tend to be:
- keeping a holistic view of everything
- assembling the right team and making sure that all the necessary stakeholders are both involved and committed
- understanding the starting point
- designing a new structure that meets the group’s commercial objectives
- creating a detailed process plan to implement the required changes without causing problems such as lost value or additional liabilities
In the case of a post-merger integration project, the first step is to map the two groups’ structures – there will be many duplications, but that’s not to say that everything is always easily compatible.
Then we work out a new structure that will support the new group’s commercial objectives. Make sure that all the required stakeholders are included and are engaged. And then create a detailed process for getting from A to B successfully.
