LCN Legal to host a seminar on the key contractual terms to protect administrative parties in finance transactions – London, 22 June 2016

On 22 June 2016 LCN Legal will be hosting a free seminar on the key contractual protections for loan servicers, trustees, agents and other corporate service providers to be aware of when negotiating the legal documents used in financing structures.

Who the seminar is for

The seminar is designed for directors, team leaders, transaction managers, sales, compliance, operations and legal personnel within the following types of organisation involved in the legal structure of capital markets or other finance transactions including:

  • Loan servicers
  • Corporate service providers
  • Agents
  • Trustees
  • Marketplace lending platforms
  • Banks
  • Investment funds

What attendees can expect to receive

The seminar will provide attendees with an understanding of how to go about negotiating the legal documents to which their business is a party in order to best protect that business. The session will focus on how to:

  • Clearly define their role
  • Make sure they get paid
  • Clarify who instructs them
  • Limit liability
  • Manage the risk of the other transaction parties influencing their ability to perform

About the presenter, Marsili Hale

The seminar will be presented by Marsili Hale, an Associate Director at LCN Legal who leads the firm’s services in this area. Marsili has over 10 years’ experience of negotiating legal documentation on behalf of loan servicers, various agent roles, trustees and market place lending platforms and was a transaction manager at Citi in the Issuer Services team. She writes and speaks regularly on this subject, including writing for Altfi News, hosting an event on back-up servicing for P2P platforms, and has published checklists for loan servicing and back-up loan servicing which are used by participants in this market and can be found here.

Date, time and venue

The seminar will be held on Wednesday 22 June 2016. Registration will begin at 9.30am. The seminar itself will begin at 10.00 am and will close by 12 noon.

The venue will be a central London location, kindly provided by Deloitte LLP.

How to reserve your place

Spaces at the seminar are strictly limited to 15 attendees and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The seminar is free for attendees, although a charge of £1,750 plus VAT will be payable for attendees who are lawyers in private practice or on secondment.
