LCN Legal will be hosting a further private discussion group on Transfer Pricing and the practicalities of putting in place Intercompany Agreements on Tuesday 13th December 2016 from 15.00 to 16.00 UK time / 16.00 to 17.00 Central European time / 09.00 to 10.00 North American Central Standard Time. This follows a similar session which we facilitated on 24th November 2016 - this session was oversubscribed and included participants calling in from Singapore, Switzerland and the Netherlands as well as the UK.
Intercompany agreements are acknowledged to be a fundamental part of transfer pricing documentation, not just in theory but also in their practical significance when dealing with challenges from tax inspectors. However, intercompany agreements are arguably one of the most challenging aspects of transfer pricing to implement in practice, perhaps because of the interaction between tax, legal and governance considerations.
This private discussion is exclusively for senior finance, tax and legal professionals within large corporates which are affected by transfer pricing issues, and therefore face the task of putting in place effective intercompany agreements.
The discussion will be in the form of a private telephone conference and will be co-hosted by Paul Sutton, one of the founders of LCN Legal, and Ian Barron, who spent over 30 years in the tax team at American Express, 19 of which as VP and Head of Corporate Tax for EMEA.
The discussion will focus entirely on the practicalities – rather than the theory – of intercompany agreements for transfer pricing, including questions such as:
- What are the most common mistakes which corporates make in relation to intercompany agreements?
- What options are there as regards the format of intercompany agreements?
- How detailed should intercompany agreements be?
- What ongoing processes and systems will need to be in place?
- Where should corporates start in a project to create appropriate intercompany agreements?
The session will be held on a strictly confidential basis, to create a safe environment for participants to share practical experiences and approaches.
In order to allow the discussion to be interactive, places will be limited to a small number participants. Places will be allocated on a first come, first-served basis.
