LCN Legal Launches Partnership Programme for 2017, Supporting Youth Work Charity XLP

LCN Updates

16 January 2017

LCN Legal is delighted to announce its Partnership Programme for 2017, supporting youth work charity XLP.

Referrals and repeat instructions are our biggest source of business. Only with the help of our clients and contacts can we continue to develop and share free resources. Through our 2017 partnership programme, your referrals and instructions will also directly help create positive futures for young people struggling with issues such as family breakdown, poverty, unemployment and educational failure.

To underline our commitment, LCN Legal has pledged to donate US$1,000 in cash* to youth work charity XLP for every qualifying new instruction** in 2017.

Why we have chosen to support XLP’s work to create positive futures for young people

XLP is a registered charity which helps create positive futures for young people struggling daily with issues such as family breakdown, poverty, unemployment and educational failure, and living in areas that experience high levels of anti-social behaviour, criminality and gang activity. Every year XLP helps thousands of them recognise their full potential. You can read our interview with XLP’s founder, Patrick Regan OBE, here.

Here are some testimonials about XLP’s inspiring work:

“There were moments visiting XLP you felt you were being tugged on your heart strings. You were very close to tears, looking at these young people who could have been going down a cul-de-sac but then they realised what incredible potential they have when given the chance to blossom.”

- Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town, Nobel Peace Laureate and Chair of The Elders

“[XLP is] Incredible and revolutionary.”

- HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

“It was a great opportunity to visit XLP. I say that because I met some extraordinary young people who were coping with a lot of difficulties and have decided on taking a path that will help them to develop their full potential, and they were greatly helped by XLP.”

- Mary Robinson, First female President of Ireland, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and a member of The Elders

“Young people need to have boundaries, they need to have discipline, and they need to have hope. That’s what XLP gives them...We need to expand this project and we need to support it.”

- Boris Johnson, former Mayor of London, journalist, former Member of Parliament for Henley For more information about XLP, click here.

How you can help

Please help us donate as much as possible to XLP, by referring your friends, colleagues and contacts to us, if they need advice on the legal design and implementation of international corporate structures, group reorganisations and intercompany agreements. You'll be doing them (and us) a favour because they too will receive the same excellent service that our existing clients have experienced. You can contact us by email at info@lcnlegal.com, and by telephone on +44 20 3286 8868.

* The cash donation will be made in GBP, applying an exchange rate of GBP1 = US$ 1.21575.

** ‘Qualifying new instruction’ means a new instruction received by us in 2017, involving fees of more than GBP25,000 (excluding VAT, expenses and third party costs) which are received by us in the same calendar year.
