Leiza is one of LCN’s Associate Directors, specialising in corporate and investment structures, with a particular focus on property and aviation.

Leiza read jurisprudence at Oxford, where she was also president of the Oxford Student Legal Advice Service. Graduating with a BA (Hons) and completing her Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, Leiza then trained and qualified at ‘Magic Circle’ law firm Linklaters, where she practised out of both the Sao Paulo and London offices. Whilst at Linklaters, Leiza worked on a number of high profile matters and counted numerous blue-chip corporates amongst the clients that she advised.

On leaving Linklaters, Leiza joined Clyde & Co LLP, another top ranking international law firm, where she remained for 8 years. During that time, though she continued to advise on general corporate matters, her practice focused primarily on M&A, joint venture and restructuring transactions where real estate was the underlying asset. Acting for a wide range of clients across varied sectors including hotels and commercial property, Leiza attained extensive experience in representing the interests of top tier property developers and private equity investors in the context of high value, prime London real estate developments.

Leiza joined LCN Legal from A J Walter Aviation, where she was Head of Legal. During her time with A J Walter, Leiza managed the group’s legal department and was responsible for advising on a wide variety of aviation and commercial matters, such as the sale, purchase and leasing of aircraft and engines, engine management agreements, teardown agreements, distribution and agency agreements and service agreements. She was also responsible for project-managing legal matters that were outsourced, such as those dealing with cross-border litigation and employment, and was heavily involved with negotiating the necessary insurance provisions of the company. As part of her role, Leiza also structured, rolled out and administered anti-bribery and compliance training to the entire international staff (including contracted agents and representatives) of AJW Global.

Leiza draws on her broad wealth of experience to advise LCN Legal’s clients on corporate and investment structures, particularly within the property and aviation sectors. Time spent in an in-house role has made her a particularly business focused, commercial lawyer and she is noted for her ability to offer practical and effective legal solutions in a clear and accessible manner.
